Rob's Birds
Please Help Support These Organizations
In an article on The Oasis Sanctuary website, I read
the suggestion --
"Once a year, put a dollar in each of five envelopes and send them to the five rescue or research organizations you want most to support."
Also --
If you want to ensure that sanctuaries, rescues, and adoption programs are still available 'someday' when your birds may need them, SUPPORT THEM TODAY!
Come on, you can afford to send more than one dollar to each, right? And why stop with five groups? Once a year isn't much, you could do it twice!
These are the organizations that I like:
- The Indonesian Parrot Project AKA Project Bird Watch -- if you love cockatoos, especially umbrellas and mollucans, help the still-wild flocks!
- The Companion Parrot Quarterly is a great resource! And a mostly one-person operation. So, please -- If you have birds, subscribe! Back issues and complilation books are available also. (Reading CPQ is nearly as good as having a personal consultation with an avian expert -- or several.) And check out the parrot art and collectibles for sale on the website.
- Parrot Adoption and Education Program, Minnesota -- Rescue, adoption, foster care, and education.
- MAARS, The Midwest Avian Adoption and Rescue Society, Minnesota
- the Alex Foundation -- Keep the research going. Donate on-line or mail 'em a check!
- The World Parrot Trust -- an international voice for parrots
- The Oasis Sanctuary, AZ Sybil Erden
- The Gabriel Foundation, CA, Julie Weiss Murad
